We are welcome all applicants who would like to apply for our grant funding. We would like to see you successful and would advise you to read information carefully.
Please note, we accept applications only from the Registered Charities.
Our funding round is open 1-31 October each year. Applications will not be processed outside of this period.
The decision on the successful applicants will be made by the Trustees no later than mid-December, followed by emails to all organizations that submitted the applications. The grants for the successful applicants will be paid immediately thereafter.
A grant of up to $5,000 may be considered based on the details given for the proposed project. The amount of the JICT grant will be determined by the Trustees.
The John Ilott Charitable Trust was set up to support small and individual organisations/groups, so if we receive an application from a Charity that is part of a large national organisation, it will not usually be endorsed unless exceptional circumstances warrant its further consideration.
To be considered for a grant, projects must fit within the Trust’s guidelines. We consider all activities related to the mission and vision of your organisation which meet the John Ilott Charitable Trust criteria.

Projects that help newly formed groups and organisations with a little “Seed Money” and that can show they are likely to succeed.
We welcome new applicants who decide to commence a charity operation to implement their idea of dealing with a particular issue in a community. An idea without a plan and strategy remains just an idea. A development plan for a new organization, coupled with a strategic approach, will establish a shared understanding of the organization’s objectives.
Our grants under the “seed money” criteria, are designed to support organizations in their infancy. These grants assist organizations in making effective decisions to enhance plan implementation and create a more significant impact within their communities.
Seed capital represents the initial funds that a charity employs to establish an organization aligned with its mission and vision. Seed money offers the following benefits:
- Provision of necessary financial resources to establish your charity.
- Enhancement of credibility, aiding in attracting top-tier talent.
Seed capital is typically utilized to facilitate the actual planning of an organization until the point when the charity begins offering its services. In this scenario, a comprehensive plan is imperative and must be submitted as an attachment.
Please be aware that applications are exclusively accepted from Registered Charities.
Our funding round takes place from the 1st to the 31st of October each year, and applications submitted outside of this timeframe will not be processed.
If your organization meets the above requirements, kindly proceed with the Application by visiting the dedicated Application page.
